Sanda and Dave

Sanda had the most amazing (Lithuanian) wedding cake I have ever seen. It was so much fun to decorate I got quite carried away with it, almost forgetting there was still a full reception room to set up! I loved the colours and textures in Sanda's flowers and the location at the Deckhouse, Woolwhich was just gorgeous. Congratulations Sanda!

Melanie & Benjamin - The Rocks

Melanie held a stunning bouquet of cream Emmanuel roses. They have the most delicious scent! The foliage on the stems was incredibly fresh and lush and looked gorgeous as a natural frame. Her bridesmaids carried the cutest fluffy posies of lissies. The photos of the beautiful bride and her girls are by Welsch Photography.

Rosanna & Shabeel, Miramare

Apparently I missed Rosanna by only a few minutes when I dropped off her wedding flowers, so I was thrilled when she sent me some photos of her big day. I loved her mixed bouquet of peach and cream David Austen roses, lissies and berries, and the candelabras on the tables at Miramare were the loveliest I have seen. Loving the red car! Vanessa & Joel - Government House

Vanessa chose a soft bouquet of pale pink and antique roses with David Austen roses, and for the girls, a mix of Sweet Avalanche, Antique and Sahara roses. Photos of Vanessa and the wedding party by Inpix Photography. Such a gorgeous result! I just love the beautiful train on Vanessa's dress too.

Kate

Kat & Michael - Botanical Gardens

Kat & Michael held their reception at the Botanical Gardens restaurant in Sydney. Kat chose a classic combination of roses and freesia for her flowers, with a touch of blue delphinium at the reception. Gorgeous shots of Kat, Michael and her bridesmaids by MM Photos.

Lauren & Ryan

Lauren was definitely the most super excited and bubbly bride I have ever encountered when delivering flowers. Just bursting with happiness and it was so lovely to see! Her bouquet is one of my favourites - a gorgeous teardrop of orchids, roses and foliage. Her bridesmaids carried partly wired bouquets of singapore orchids and roses. The beautiful photo of Lauren and her bridesmaids was taken by Amber Dawn Photography, others by Lotus.

Louise & Richard - Catalina

Louise and I exchanged emails between Sydney and London to organise her wedding flowers. I was thrilled to receive some photos from her following the wedding and to know that she was equally as thrilled with her flowers. The ceremony was held at the beautiful Our Lady Star of the Sea in Watsons Bay, followed by an intimate reception of 10 guests at Catalina, Rose Bay. What a sweet couple!! Milk and Honey Photography took the photos of the bride and groom.

Danielle & Gordon - Royal Motor Yacht Club

Danielle & Gordon put alot of thought into the flowers they wanted for their wedding day. We were all thrilled with the combination in the end, and the antique pink rose went beautifully with the unusual purple of the bridesmaids outfits. Danielle recently sent me a couple of gorgeous photos taken by her photographer Linda Truong.

Debbie & Para - Darling Harbour

For her bouquets, Debbie wanted the classic look of roses, but with something a little different for the table arrangements at the Harbourside. For this she chose singapore and cymbidium orchids in huge vases filled with gel. The red and white themed church flowers complimented the interior of All Saints at Woollahra beautifully.

Abby & Fatty

I met Abby for the first time on the big day after many calls and emails to organise her wedding flowers all the way from Perth. We played around with combinations and styles via photos and emails with "practice flowers" before we decided on this delightful posy of purple and white sweet peas, freesias and berzillia. She gave me a big hug when I arrived at the Newport Mirage with her flowers!

Welcome to the Lotus Blog

Welcome to the Lotus Blog! This is where I will be documenting some of my favourite weddings and sharing photos that will hopefully inspire you when preparing your own wedding.

Thankyou to the wonderful brides who have sent me photos of your wedding day. I can't tell you how much I love to see them. To see the full picture of your day, with everyone dressed up and looking stunning really makes my day.

Finally, to the talented Photographers who capture these wedding memories and make my flowers look even more beautiful - thankyou for sharing your images. In particular I'd like to thank Elkie from Elkie Photography and Leisa from Infinity Photography for generously allowing me to use their work on the testimonial, contact and wedding pages of the site.

Happy reading!

Vickie & Chris, May 2010

The theme for Vickie's wedding to Chris was China red & white, with a splash of hot pink on the tables. The happy couple were married in the beautiful grounds of Springfield House at Dural, beneath a huge floral ball of red roses in the gazebo - something a little bit different, and very very beautiful, not to mention fun to make.

Vickie was crazy about her flowers which made me very happy!

Tara & Nathan, Curzon Hall

After a long pink-break it was refreshing to work with some lovely pale pink and cream roses again. Mixed with freesias the combination was really sweet and complimented the pale pink, romantic theme of Tara and Nathan's wedding. Photos of Tara and her girls by John D'AMICO Photography.

Dana & Tim

Dana and I chatted generally about the colours, flowers and look that she was after, but then she pretty much let me do whatever I wanted for her wedding flowers - so much fun!

I loved picking out a selection of flowers in rich colours - burgundy, deep red, orange/rust, dark pink and green, and I really didn't have a firm plan for her bouquet until I had the ingredients in front of me. I loved the final result - such a visual feast. Gorgeous shots of Dana and Tim by Elkie Photography.

Jennifer & Ryan - St Patrick's Manly

Jenny chose pale pink peonies mixed with cream David Austens for her bouquet. For her bridesmaids we used the same David Austens, combined with blue delphinium to bring out the blue in their dresses. The little flower girls are so sweet with their pomanders! Photos of Jenny and the bridal party provided by Visuality Photography.

Shelley & Glenn

Shelley and Glen had a garden wedding at Curzon Hall.

Her bridesmaids were wearing a pale sage green, so she asked for soft pinks for their flowers, with a touch of white. It was too early for Peonies, but we were lucky to get the first of the David Austen roses this season. Mixed in with blushing bride, lisianthus, freesias and dusty miller foliage, the bouquets were soft and pretty, and they had a gorgeous perfume.

The last 3 photos were taken by Infinity Photography, others by Lotus. The one of Shelley before her wedding is so elegant and beautiful - one of my all time favourites!
